Cal Pump S900T20 900 GPH Pump with 20-Feet Cord

I was looking for a pump that will work reliably in chlorinated water. I have a fountain in a small reservoir, which empties into my pool so chlorinated water runs thru it. My previous pump was so labeled, but it failed quickly (we seldom turned the fountain on so it wasn't usage). This pump sounded good: good flow capability and built of stainless steel. But the specs on it are lacking; there is nothing that tells you, ahead of time, which are the input/output ports. So that meant putting the pump on its side, which is curved, into the base of my fountain, which is limited. And forget about adding the filter and screen--no room for that so I jury-rigged a filter of my own. Finally, the flow adjustment valve changes nothing. My fountain is about 5 ft high, and it has 5 total ports--4 on the sides near the top, and one bubbler at the top. I can find no setting which causes flow thru the top port. My previous pump had a wide adjustment range, and I could easily get adequate flow thru all outlets. I am working to narrow down the diameter of the outlets, which is another work-around. I hope that will do the job.It's clean, stainless, sleek, but it doesn't work for me.

I have had this same pump for our outside fountain . Pumps lots of water at plenty of pressure . They will last about 2-3 years and the cord will dry rot from storage out of water in winter . When that happens it will short the ground fault plug and I just order a replacement. I plan to apply some conditioner to cord when in storage to keep from drying out .

I have used the Cal Pump for over 15 years. It performs well and keeps my Koi pond's filter system working. The only issue is it lifetime use. I have found that it lasts about 5 years and then it leaks oil causing me to change out the water in my pond.

the little plug on the side I had to put some Teflon tape, but is is working fine.

Worked just as the spec's said. The backyard fountain is happy again.

Easy to install. Works very well.

Shorted to ground after 5 years, I would have expected this pump to last longer.

Our 2,000 gal Koi pond pump stopped working. Need one fast. We even up graded from our last pump. Save me. Great price and exactly what we needed. Arrived very quickly!!
