Q: Is this big enough to grab a papaya?

Yes, it's big enough to grab them, but our papayas tend to be too heavy for it to hold them. We sort of grab/push/pull the fruit with the picker and have someone else standing under to try and catch them on the way down!

Q: can I use this for persimmons?

The Twister Fruit Picker will work well for picking persimmons. Our customers agree. They noted that it was especially helpful in harvesting persimmons that hang in clusters or are located high in the tree. When the tension is adjusted correctly, the picking rings will securely grip the persimmon; then with both hands they can be twisted off the tree. One customer mentioned that the “twisting motion” was very advantageous for breaking the stem, rather than a "yanking motion“ like you have to use with other types of pickers. Hope this helps. Q: Can you pick prickly pears with it?

It was OK for picking apples. We lost one of the little cups at our first harvest. It was the least favorite of the different harvesting tools we used for apples.

Q: Will this tool work for picking pomegranates?

In another question on this page, this answer was given about pomegrantes: Charles Wood answered on September 29, 2013 "Works great on pomegranates. I have a tree and use it on the fruit and it is super easy to get the fruit."Several others have written to us that it works for pomegranates. Living in the northern climes, we haven't personally used it for pomegranates, but The Twister Fruit Picker's twisting motion should be ideal for getting pomegranates off of your tree.
