SOG SideSwipe Mini Assisted Folding Knife SW1001-CP - Grey TiNi 3" Blade, Aluminum & GRN Handle, Lockback

This is an all around great knife. I think hunters would find this knife especially useful, because the top of the blade has been tapered to an edge that is perfect for taking the skin off of game, and when using it for this, your thumb is supported very well in the grip.The sides of the grip will not run your hand raw, yet there is fantastic grip even when wet because of the cut outs in the bottom of the grip and the curved front end. It's not a knife that will slip on you easily at all.As with all SOG knives, it's razor sharp, and although I was cautious, the assisted open is fantastic.I've had a lifelong love with SOG knives, and it because they are durable, affordable, and the designs are well thought out.It's extremely light and of course the clip is as good as it gets. I really like it.

Very good knife, but there are some issues.LOOK and DURABILITYBeautiful knife, but overtime just from sweat and humidity it has surface rust on the blade. The clip bent from use and broke off and the knife is really difficult to carry without a clip. I tried replacing the clip but the screws were stripped.FUNCTIONLove the assisted blade, however it doesn't always open fully every time. Not a knife for emergencies.SUMMARYGood knife, one of my favorites, but not top of the line. With SOG and its Chinese steel you get what you pay for.

I like the size of the knife, but the quality is inferior. The first thing that happened is the pocket clip broke, Now the handle insert on the left side has fallen out. Life time warranty?

I love the size, feel and assisted folding feature with the lock. I dislike the difficulty getting it out of my pocket because the clip is on the Pommel end on the knife instead of the pivot end, probably why it has the lock for the collapsed blade. I also do not like the thumbstuds. They are wider than the total width of the knife and stick into/poke my thigh, probably contributing to the difficulty in removing from my pocket. I’ll probably be ordering another knife to carry daily or cut the thumbstuds down to half their size in order to get it out of my pocket.

I had very high hopes for this knife. I have heard great things about SOG KNIVES. I was looking for a decent EDC knife. First off the assisted opening on this knife is very stiff and rarely opens all the way with a one hand operation. The worst part though is the Edge. In less than a month of minimal use, the edge is cracked, and broken. It was not sharp from the first day I opened it. Really let down.

I ordered this for my boyfriend for Valentine’s Day and he loved it! It’s the perfect size pocket knife for his needs! Not too bulky and a cool sleek design!
