Bissell Steam Mop Replacement Filter, 32526

If you are like many others with this mop who are experiencing a fishy odor while you mop, this filter may help slightly but will not fix the problem completely (at least it didn't for me).I did some research and the fish smell usually comes from the head of the mop so to get rid of the smell you have to clean it. Good news is that it's pretty easy to do.Here's How: Unscrew the head and remove it from the mop, (you have to loosen a couple screws on the mop too to remove the head) Then unscrew the bottom piece (the part the mop pad goes on). Now smell inside.... Yum! Lol, I was disgusted! You'll notice that's where the smell comes from. First I used all purpose cleaner and I thought that was enough but once I used it again I could still smell fish. So I took it apart again and I soaked the bottom part in vinager for 15 minutes then sprinkled baking soda on it and let that sit for about 10 minutes then sprayed it with more vinager and let the foam it creates work it's magic for about 15 minutes.For the top part of the mop head I just sprayed vinager and sprinkled baking soda in the inside of it then wiped it clean. I'm not sure if that part should be submerged in liquid. Anyway, after letting it dry I put it back together and now there is no odor! Don't worry, the vinager smell goes away in about an hour. I got my Bissell steam mop a year ago and love it. It gets my light colored kitchen floor cleaner in 20 minutes than hours of scrubbing would and without the use of any chemicals. When it started making a clicking noise and steam wasn't coming out I thought that I had somehow broken it. This, of course, happened at the worst possible moment as company was to arrive in an hour. I was using only distilled water and the filter had not turned from green to blue to indicate that it needed to be changed, but I decided to try changing the filter as a last ditch effort to save my steam mop and I am so glad that I did. As soon as the filter was changed the clicking noise stopped and the steam flowed out beautifully. The filters are not exactly cheap but mine did last a whole year with a lot of use. Amazon had the best prices so I ordered three of them because I don't want to go through experience again. Now I know that no matter what color the filter is, if I hear clicking then the filter needs to be changed and I have the spares to do it.

I replaced this filter and the bottle on my steam mop and still have a problem with it leaking. I don't know if it is just a design flaw in the mop itself or the parts that go to it. This was an exact replacement of the one I had, so I can't complain any there. I works, what can I say.

I ordered this to replace my original filter which developed a crack after one too many drops. This replacement fits and does the job, or at least as far as I can tell and I suppose that's all I can ask. It's definitely a generic though, not OEM Bissell.

These filters for my Steam Mop are hard to find locally so I was thrilled to find them on Amazon.They're exactly what I needed and a great bargain to boot!

I searched several stores for this filter replacement and couldn't find it anywhere. Thankfully I found it here and it fit my mop perfectly! I will continue to buy my filters from here. Not sure how often I need to, I had to replace my first one because I knocked over my mop and it cracked the filter spilling everything everywhere. So I'm glad I found this one and that it shipped that same week to save the day at my house!

These filters saved me from having to buy a new steam mop. I always try to keep a spare filter and they do what they are supposed to do.
