Sagaform Double Wall Porcelain Pix Take Away Mug with Drip Proof Silicone Lid, Pix, 8.5-Ounce

I have a very active infant at home who grabs everything she can get her hands on. To avoid hot spills over her, I needed something with a lid. The metal and plastic thermal cups always give my tea or coffee a bad aftertaste. This is a very nicely designed and well made cup. First of all, this is porcelain, not ceramic like many other cups. Porcelain is a step up from ceramic and generally more durable. The outside of the cup looks like it is 12 oz. However, since it is a double walled cup designed to keep your beverages hot longer, it holds about 8 oz. The silicone lid fits on snug without any leakage problems. For the first few days, the lid smells like silicone but that goes away quickly. I have put the cup in the dishwasher but rinsed the lid by hand so far. Although it is a thermal cup, do not expect your beverage to maintain its temperature as long as in a metal cup since this type of material just does not hold the temperature that long. If you like to sip on your old coffee for two hours (I don't), this will not work because your coffee will be cold by then. If you have a piping hot beverage, you can definitely feel the outside of your cup getting warm too. It will not be too hot to hold but again, the insulating properties of the material is just less than of metal. Overall an attractive looking cup with a lid that keeps your hot beverage hot longer and does not affect the taste of your drink.Update: I have had this cup for more than half a year now and use it at least once a day. It still looks like new and the lid still fits perfectly. I put it in the microwave frequently (often with lid). It goes in the dishwasher once in a while but I usually handwash it but I think more frequent dishwasher cycles would have been ok.Update again: After two years, a small hairline crack developed on the outside and it finally broke. During that time, I (ab)used it multiple times a day, washed in the dishwasher frequently and dropped it several times. It is porcelain, so it does not chip easily and I was pleased that it lasted this long. It never leaked and both mug and lid looked like new until it finally died. Since then, I bought another Sagaform mug  Sagaform 5015919 Double Wall Porcelain Flower Take Away Mug with Silicone Lid  which is identical except for the design because Warehouse Deals often has some good open box offers.

I love the colors - so cheerful and pretty to look at. This is my 2nd double walled mug (the other was a gift from Starbucks). I've become a huge fan of double walled mugs because they keep your drink hot for a long time and you can hold it without burning your hand. I either brew tea or coffee, and either way they stay nice and warm in this, which is great on a cold morning commute. I've heated it up in the microwave with no problem so far. Washing it is easy and so far it hasn't stained. I only wish that it was bigger and had a better lid - it can taste weird, even though I've rinsed it thoroughly. Other than that, awesome mug!

From the outside this cup looks like a normal sized travel cup for a small, 12 oz coffee. However on the inside it is weirdly small (if you look down into the cup, the bottom is probably the size of a quarter), and I now realize it says in the description that it only holds 8.5 oz, which for me isn't even a full cup. I like the appearance, and it works well and doesn't leak or anything, but I prefer my normal person sized coffees, not baby coffees.

I purchased this cup a couple months ago for around the $15 price point, and simply like everything about it. The colors and designs of all the Sagaform porcelain cups are very attractive. It seems like a very good product - made of quality materials. The porcelain imparts no odd taste to my coffee as some cups seem to do. If my experience is typical, those who have suffered with leaky lids will be quite pleased, as the lid on mine works superbly with no leaks. Even when filled with super hot coffee the cup doesn't get too hot to hold, due to the double walled construction.The only downside is the limited capacity. Physically this looks like a 12 ounce cup, but due to the double walled design, the true capacity is only 8.5 ounces.

The cup itself seems well-made and looks nice - as it appears in the photo. However, it's not very useful as a travel mug because the lid is too loose. When you drink from it, liquid leaks from around the edge of the lid. I have had other travel mugs of similar design that do not have this problem. Am returning this one for a refund.

Cute design but the biggest issue is that it leaks! Prior to washing the lid and first use, the lid was secure but after hand-washing the lid, it no longer fits correctly so every time you take a sip of coffee, coffee drips down the sides and onto your clothes. Maybe it is this particular lid as I have had 2 other mugs (different design on the porcelain but the same brand) and didn't have a problem at all. Very disappointing.

I'm on my second one, having lost the first one years ago. I am so happy they still make the "pix" pattern, as it seems modern yet timeless. The mug is good quality, but still delicate (especially the lip, which is the thinnest part of the porcelain). I wash it by hand and have put it in a microwave a couple of times with no issues. Being double-walled, the interior is rather small; at 8.5 ounces, it doesn't hold much. Parts of the cup get hot, but not so much that I can't hold it (it's cooler towards the bottom). Altogether, I love the design and quality, and I have the dala horse pattern as well.

This mug is just the right size for my daily cup of coffee at work. It takes me ages to finish drinking it, and the mug keeps it warm for a fair amount of time. Plus I can microwave it too. The outside can get a bit hot, but I just hold the mug at the top end.

I had seen this in Debenhams a few months ago priced at £15 so at least you can save a few pound coins on Amazon! It is an extremely well-made porcelain travel mug that is excellent quality. It is double layered with a little rubber stopper in the base to stop liquid entering the insulating layer. I absolutely love the colourful design and was in debate about whether to buy this one or one of the other sagaform designs! As other reviews have said as well, the silicon lid holds quite a strong smell. I have used it about 3 times and hopefully it will wear off after a while. Other than that, the lid fits snugly over the mug and prevents leaking - I look forward to getting a lot of use out of this!

Der Becher ist echt klasse. Sieht schön aus, hält warm. Perfekt für den Weg auf die Arbeit um schon mal einen Kaffee zum Wachwerden zu genießen! ;-) Spülmaschinengeeignet! Also ich habe ihn zumindest schon öfter drin gehabt.Viel Spaß damit! ;-)
