Portal 2 Chell's Jumpsuit Costume

Yes, there was a lot of anxiety about receiving this costume in time for Halloween. I pre-ordered it several weeks ago from Amazon at $99.99, and when I was informed that it might not be delivered until November, I freaked and ordered it from Toynk via Amazon for $20 more, just so I would be sure to have a costume. Of course now Amazon has it back in stock and I feel like I wasted $20. But anyways, I did receive the item and it's rather nice.For those of you wondering about sizing, since the costume is unisex and there are no specific measurements listed: I am female, 5'5" and about an American size 10. I ordered a medium and it fits nicely. The costume has a bit of stretch to it as well so if you like a tight fit you could size down. It seems sturdy, and the only defect I've found so far is that there is some stray black thread on the white Aperture patch that makes it look slightly less professional.

I ordered this in XL and had it tailored. I'm actually an XS but it costs an arm and a leg and it still would've been to big. This jumpsuit was definitely made with an average male's measurements. I think they were going for unisex but it's not. I got it tailored, which is very expensive but totally worth it. It fits me perfectly now.

Despite the woman in the picture (I mean, hello, it's an outfit for a female video game character), these are sized for men. I ordered a medium based on the women's size chart and was absolutely swimming in this (5'2", 135 lbs). My boyfriend fit pretty well, though!I re-ordered in small and it fit fine. The hips luckily were not too tight (sized for men...) and it was still a bit loose in small, but it works. I will be tying the arms around my waist most likely anyway. On that note, doing so is a bit awkward.Legs have elastic ties for "rolling up" the pant legs for Chell's long fall boots (or the socks version, which Amazon also carries).I am disappointed that Amazon does not carry the white Aperture Lab tank top and vice versa that ThinkGeek does not carry this jumpsuit! The portal gun pictured I almost guarantee is from ThinkGeek.

I made sure to read the reviews before purchasing this costume. So, after reading that it runs quite large I decided to ordered an X-Small. I am 5'4" 122lbs and the XS size fits better than I anticipated. My only complaint is that the lower torso section is a bit long and lower in the crotch area than it should be. And when you tie up the legs to knee height they are a big baggy. I should be able to roll these under. If I were a few inches taller, it'd be perfect. Perhaps because this outfit was sized for a man? (Amusing decision by the manufacturer since Chell is a woman!) Otherwise, the waist and chest all fit great. The fabric is soft and breathable, and it does have some very nice details. Since there is no other choice for this costume (and no, I don't have the time or skill to make one myself) I am very happy with my purchase!

Unless if the model in the photo is almost six feet tall or has a myriad of clips to hold back all the excess fabric, I don't see how this costume would fit so snugly on a woman. Even after having literally every aspect of the suit tailored 1-2 inches, this "small" sized costume fits like a circus tent. I normally wear medium sized clothing, so I tried to follow the advice of one of the reviewers who said to buy one size below to be safe; however, I don't think an extra small would have even come close to fitting properly.If the costume was sized for men, the picture that accompanies the description should feature a male model or at least offer sizes for smaller, Chell-sized women.Pros: Good sizes available for larger folks, nice elastic band around the waist, fairly durable, material is lightweight and not too hot (wore it all day in the Georgia heat)Cons: Terrible for small women, inaccurate for being officially licensed (no button-up cuffs, stripes too large, wrong patch, etc), too expensive for the overall quality and fit

I got a mens XL and am a female 2so and it fits fine. Really long arms and legs but there are straps to shorten them. The zipper is cheap and the teeth opened up after a couple of zips. The crotch came open during a squat. There is only one stitch so best to re-sew it yourself just to be safe. To fix the zipper, I used a pair of plyers to squeeze the top and bottom of the zipper. Worked fine afterwards.

I must first parrot what others have said: if you're looking at a large due to the size chart, get a medium. I was worried that I would not fit into it, as the size chart would seem to show that I should fit nicely into a large, but went with the reviews. I'm glad I did, it fits perfectly. It's stretchy so it has some room, too.This costume is well-tailored. I originally didn't want to get it as I figured I could probably make something of similar quality, but looking at it now, it is very well done. Something I would have made just wouldn't have had the perfect official finishing touch that this costume has.I'm glad I went with this. It's great and is perfect if you love Portal. Can't wait to get the gun and complete the outfit!
