Delicious looking pictures of healthy food!
I was reading this book and I had eaten a big dinner and was still hungry, that was a mistake from my part as the recipes and images of foods presented look delicious. The first section had the facts and the science needs to understand basics, but as soon as I hit the second part of the book which had recipes, its hard too look away! Who said healthy food was not beautiful and tasty! I found some amazing recipes! The chocolate avocado mousse is probably the one I would try first. While this book is marketed for diabetics older than 60, I feel it would be a great addition to a collection for all ages!

Simple recipes and easy to follow
This book has simple low-sugar meals and clearer guidance on what to eat. Everything is explained in plain English, the shopping tips are great, and the 8 week plan makes it easy to start. The recipes are super simple to follow with normal ingredients, but I thought that some of them were a bit plain unless you add some herbs and spice. Also some menus repeat, which was not great but makes planning easier. Overall itโs a useful book and easy to follow.

Easy reciepes
I really loved the book., itโs well made. Itโs pretty straightforward. Simple and fast recipes. First time seen celery with almond butter and I loved the idea. Great photos. Lots of new ideas for cooking for me.

The Lightning Bolt Cookbook That Changed My Life (And My Blood Sugar)
Holy guacamole (sugar-free, obviously)! This cookbook hit me like a lightning boltโliterally, there are 47 lightning bolt emojis in the description, which is exactly how many times my blood sugar spiked reading it. I'm Harold, 73, and my relationship with diabetes was rockier than my marriage to Gladys (may she rest in peace). But this book? It's like having a personal chef who also happens to be a math genius obsessed with glycemic indexes. The "+360 clever recipe substitutions" sounds impressive until you realize that's basically saying "replace sugar with sadness" in 360 different ways. But hey, the photos are so colorful I almost forgot I was looking at cauliflower pretending to be mashed potatoes. My favorite feature? The "special table that lets you choose meals according to your blood sugar level right now." Finally, a cookbook that accommodates my 3 AM panic testing! Blood sugar at 180? Page 47. Feeling like a normal human? Page 203 (which is surprisingly thin). The 60-day meal plan is geniusโit's essentially the same 4-week plan twice, because apparently after 60, we can't remember what we ate last month anyway. The "Green & Red Editions" sound fancy, but I suspect they're just the same recipes with different lighting. Bottom line: If you enjoy eating cardboard with enthusiasm while pretending it's pasta, this book is your Bible. My blood sugar is stable, my taste buds are confused, and my grocery bill has tripled buying specialty flours I can't pronounce. **Would recommend to anyone ready to turn cooking into a science experiment!**

The amount of recipes you get with this book is amazing. It has full photos to show the look for every recipe and the full recipe list. My favorite part is that the book includes tips and suggestions for staying on track with your diet plan!

Overall a decent book to add to my collection.
Good intro to how to address foods that support this lifestyle. One highlight is the "customization" or options to tweak a given recipe. Obviously does not apply to all recipes but a good feature when applicable. Lot of recipes - some rather simple like eggs and avocado or nuts & apple. Overall a decent book to add to my collection.
